Why do we need Bionic Limbs?

Bionic limbs are used to replace a missing limb which may have been lost due to disease, trauma or hereditary defect. Depending on the individual, the cause of amputation or limb loss and where the amputation is located, the type of prosthesis needed is different.

Bionic limbs have advanced considerably over the years and the technology and mechanics within them have also become very sophisticated. They are constantly developing to become more human like in their looks and functions. Although, bionic limbs still have a lot of progression needed before they accomplish the full range of motion, control and sensitivity of ‘real life’ limbs.

Bionic Limbs replaces what is lost.
These prosthesis restores a missing body part; this helps patients to perform ordinary activities that once seemed impossible without bionic limbs. The prosthetics help patients to perform basic tasks such as eating, walking and doing daily activities that people with all limbs find simplistic.

Functionality is replaced with bionic limbs.
Bionic Limbs helps to restore functionality in humans who suffer from diseases requiring amputation or from limbs lost from birth.

Giving back the sense of independence.
For people with two leg amputations, being able to have two bionic legs helps them to walk up and down stairs without needing help in their wheelchair. Bionic Limbs provide a greater sense of independence that patients can do whatever they want, when they want.
